Tues Sept 24

Hey Guys!

So today I woke up and made some scrambled eggs by the microwave. Who knew they tasted edible! I found out that for some reason, the store (Saturn) cancelled my shipment of toaster oven and hotplate. So, now I have to go down and pick it up! So much for being lazy. I think that's a task for tomorrow.

So lecture this morning was on our health as a medical student. Handling, and coping with stress. We also had a guest presentation from the clinical psychologist, who is paid a salary and made available for the students!! (Yay! finally someone who can help me!!)

After that, it was a library tour and session about the current services offered from the library. Not a whole lot. Almost everything has to be ordered through their circulation desk, there's not a lot of study cubicles, and there's no group study rooms. So, in my mind right now, useless.

We do get access to another library. This library is on the campus of the University of Gdańsk. It's about 10 minutes away, and is supposed to be really nice to study in.

We got about 2 hours off before our basic polish, so I went back to my room, ate some lunch and took a nap. After polish, I ate some dinner and got ready for the Fresher's week 'games night'. It had a lot of drinking involved again, this time I participated in it a bit. No one on my team liked to do straight shots of vodka, and in one of the games, this came as a 'penalty shot'. So I had a few.

The second years, or Godparents, are really just trying to help get the partying side out of the freshmen. This is the time to do it, because starting Monday, real medical school starts.

I went back to my dorm during the dinner break (around 9) and just got comfy and skyped. I wasn't going out to the bar with them. Not my scene. Reviewed some of the polish homework, and then went to bed.
